The Problem
Designers who want to use AI to generate Figma layouts face a painful choice: pay for expensive API keys, or copy-paste manually between tools. Neither is good enough.
The Solution
A Figma plugin where you write a prompt, hit Copy, paste into any browser AI (ChatGPT, Gemini, Claude), get JSON back, paste it in — and watch fully editable Figma components appear. No API key. No cost. No friction.
01
Every AI design tool requires an API key. That means sign-ups, billing, per-token costs — all before you've seen a single result. But every designer already has ChatGPT, Gemini, or Claude open in a browser tab. Why not use that?
02
The plugin generates a structured prompt and shows a Copy button. You paste it into your browser AI, get back JSON describing the Figma layout, paste it into the plugin, and hit Generate. The plugin parses the JSON and builds real Figma frames — text, rectangles, auto-layouts, colors, all editable.
03
The copy-paste step is the last friction point. The next version adds a Chrome extension that communicates directly with the Figma plugin. When you hit Generate, the extension injects the prompt into your active browser AI, captures the response, and sends it back — no manual copying.
04
API costs add up fast for individual designers. This plugin democratises AI-assisted design — a junior designer in a tier-2 city with no credit card can use the same AI capabilities as someone at a funded startup. That's the goal.
